In
only a few hours on September 11, 1991 Hurricane
Iniki demolished the island of Kauai, resulting in
the total loss of the island's tourism. This event
prompted Steve Egger, one of the partners of the
helicopter tour company, Air Kauai, to create his
own company, and in 1992 Air Maui was born.
Steve's
approach to helicopter tours is somewhat different
than other helicopter companies. While many view
a helicopter tour as just a ride in a helicopter,
Steve believes the helicopter is only part of the
overall experience. "Think of the helicopter
as a magic carpet or time machine that takes you
to another place and time," says Steve.
Today,
after 12 years flying Maui and Molokai, Air Maui's
philosophy of Fun, Adventure and Customer Satisfaction
makes it one of Hawaii's top aerial tour operators.

Trained
under the strict standards of Air Maui's owner and
veteran pilot, Steve Egger, Air Maui's pilots hold
over 6,000 hours of flight time. Aside from being top
grade pilots, they excel at being your personal tour
guides. At the end of the day, an entirely new crew
takes over. Their FAA certified and factory trained
mechanics inspect and maintain the aircraft to ensure
every component and every system is perfect! Regardless
of claims of experience, training, and awards the proof
of their dedication is evident in their safety record. |
